Abstract

here assigned to the fourteenth century, on the basis of an inscription dated 1387. This inscription, however, has no connection with the paintings, which were added in the eighteenth century and are labelled, moreover, in the Tamil script of this late era. The short text by Pierre Rambach is valueless. The array of black and white plates is enchanting. There are, in addition, six color plates which might well have been omitted.
