Abstract

Identification of atrial fibrillation can provide the explanation for a stroke, but it is not always clear when to start anticoagulation in order to prevent another stroke. This chapter breaks down stroke risk and anticoagulation timing in patients with atrial fibrillation as a cause for stroke.
