Abstract
The article is devoted to the development of a method of reducing the error in calculating load losses of electricity in the wires of overhead power transmission lines. These calculations are often carried out when the wire temperature is taken equal 20°C or the average air temperature. These assumptions can lead to large errors, since the losses depend on the resistance of the wires, and it is affected by the magnitude of the flowing current and meteorological factors. There are more accurate methods that allow to determine the temperature of the wires, but they are very complex and not used in calculating losses. This article proposes a method of correction coefficients, which can reduce the mathematical expectation of the error in calculating load losses. The method is based on taking into account the total contribution of influencing factors and is very simple for practical application.
