Abstract

GRASP (Graphical Ring Access Simulation Program) is a graphical simulation software created specifically for analysing the performance of computer communications networks conforming to the IEEE802.5 local area networking standard. The performance parameters evaluated by the software are: the maximum, and the average, achieveable data rate of each node; the maximum, and the average, message queueing delay; as well as, the maximum number of data bits at the output buffer of each node. All these results are provided by GRASP in evaluating the performance of a token-ring network.
