Abstract

The protective devices and switches play an important role in the reliability of electrical distribution systems as they allow to minimize negative effects of electricity interruptions. In this paper, a novel approach to identification of the type and location for protection devices on distribution systems is proposed. The proposed approach is based on a greedy optimization algorithm. The efficiency and validity of the proposed method are demonstrated in case studies.
