Abstract

One important reason for the lack of acceptance of coronary arteriography techniques is the four hours (approximate) required for accurate 3D quantification of an arterial tree, thus making it prohibitive for the clinician to utilize. Parallel processing techniques can greatly speed up the image processing and analysis of 3D arterial trees. It has been demonstrated in this project1 that the reconstruction of the three dimensional image and arteriographic measurements can be made close to real time using these techniques. 1.
