Innovative Assistive System for Monitoring People with Alzheimer

Abstract

Neurodegenerative diseases and other categories of dementia have a profound impact not only on those diagnosed but also on those close to them and society, and are affecting millions of people worldwide. Various researchers and companies have proposed medical and non-medical products or devices that help these people. The products on the market at the moment, although numerous, are not connected to the needs of patients. Also, most of the existing devices do not sufficiently protect the patient’s data. This study designed a complete system to monitor and record the patient’s locations, heart rate, and patient’s spatial position. Also, this system’s novelty is the function that helps people with dementia in the self-administration of drugs. In this case, they can take care of themselves, and those close to them will always know the location and position of these patients if they took their medication correctly.
