Abstract

This article presents a survey done on 130 projects in the IT area that evaluated the relationship between the degree of maturity in project management of the performing organization and the project’s performance. The maturity was evaluated by the degree of formalization procedures of project management described in the PMBOK, and the performance of the projects was evaluated by Shenhar’s definition (2001). It was possible to verify that the processes of project management do not have the same relationship as to the performance project.
