Abstract

The characteristic of surface pollution on insulators is the crucial factor in causing flashover. A natural pollution accumulation platform that contains porcelain, glass and double-umbrella insulators is built to study the Equivalent Salt Deposit Density (ESDD) and Non Soluble Deposit Density (NSDD) characteristics as well as particle size distribution characteristics on such insulators.
