A Systematic Mapping on CASE Tools Usability Assessment

Abstract

CASE tools are software products widely used as support for the development process of information systems. However, a problem reported in the literature is the deficiency presented by these tools regarding their usability, which can have a negative impact on the tasks performed by the developers. In this context, this article presents a systematic mapping of the literature, in which was identified, catalogued, and classified studies whose focus is the usability analysis in CASE tools. This article aims to improve the knowledge of researchers and professionals regarding the existing standards for usability evaluation of this type of tool, as well as highlight the main challenges and research gaps related to this area.
