Abstract
This paper proposes a hybrid distributed phased array-multiple input and multiple output (PA-MIMO) radar system, which is a compromise combination of phased array radar and MIMO radar. Firstly, we establish a target detection model based on the Neyman-Pearson criterion for the radar system. Secondly, a likelihood ratio detector is derived with the overall consideration of channel reciprocity and multi-pulse phase parameter accumulation shared by subarray transceivers. Then, the closed-form expression for detection probability is obtained and compared with the other four typical MIMO radar and phased array radar. Finally, simulation experiments and the results comparison are provided to verify that the hybrid distributed MIMO radar system effectively improve the target detection performance of the radar system using both spatial diversity gain and phase reference gains.
