Architectures of Wonder and Dismay

Abstract

Despite the spectacle going digital, the physical built environment of cities, infrastructure and everyday space continues to exist, at least for the time being. It is worth noting that the Trump enterprise perfected its post-truth capabilities through the production of these spectacular spaces as well, including hotels, resorts, casinos, shopping centers and other spaces of leisure. Again, the spectacle as an embodied assemblage enrols us in a series of activities that bring us into an uneasy proximity with the consumer world promoted by the Trump family business itself.
