Abstract

The design and the performance of a low noise SAW oscillator operating at 433.92 MHz are presented. At a power output of 11 dBm the oscillator shows a single sideband phase noise to carrier ratio 6f 125 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset. Calculations of the oscillator phase noise using Leesons model agree well with measured data. Comments will be given on temperature stability, harmonics and spurious signals.
