Abstract

A compact dual-polarized printed antenna with high isolation is presented. The proposed dual-polarized antenna has a very simple structure, which is a combination of a CPW-fed slotted monopole for vertical polarization and a microstrip-fed slotted patch for horizontal polarization. Surface current distributions are given to analyze the mechanism of polarization diversity. A prototype design operating at 3.5 GHz band is discussed. Simulated and measured results show that the proposed antenna has low envelope correlation and high ports isolation (>25dB).
