Abstract
This article focuses on the issues of assurance of functional safety in relation to ecodesign of machine tools. Legislative requirements (2006/42/EC [1], 2009/125/EC [3]) and requirements of current standards (EN ISO 13849-1 [8], EN ISO 13849-2 [9], EN 62061 [10], EN ISO 14006 [5], EN ISO 14040 [6]) are discussed.
