Abstract

Path restoration is a well-studied end-to-end restoration mechanism, but prior work addressing dual-failure restoration and availability is limited. We develop a new algorithmic approach and constituent ILP model to calculate dual-failure availability in a path-restorable network designed for full single-failure survivability. We also investigate the impact extra spare capacity investment has on the network’s availability.
