Abstract

This publication presents the use of artificial intelligence algorithms based on cognitive resonance for developing a new class of computer systems supporting the interpretation of image patterns and medical diagnostics. Such systems have been named UBIAS - understanding based image analysis systems, and have been proposed as a new class of intelligent information systems able to execute so- called computer image understanding. In particular, a BFSA system dedicated to tasks of medical interpretation of images presenting fractures of long bones in extremities is described.
