Abstract
In this paper, a MAC-layer protocol for mobile ad hoc networks called Assistant Nodes Time Division Multiple Access (ANTDMA) is proposed. ANTDMA is based on multichannel transmitting and assistant node. Multiple channels can increase spatial reuse and decrease delay and collision during transmitting. Meanwhile, with the help of assistant nodes, ANTDMA not only has a large throughput, but also becomes flexible and scalable. RTS/CTS/DATA/ACK four-way handshake mechanism is also utilized in ANTDMA in order to enhance the reliable and security of the protocol. Comparing to existing MAC protocols for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET), the significant advantages of the protocol we designed are shown by numerical and computer simulation results at the end of this paper.
