Abstract

This chapter presents a list of ancient sources that are relevant to the book Dinner at Dan Biblical and Archaeological Evidence for Sacred Feasts at Iron Age II Tel Dan and Their Significance. The book presents an analysis of the primary biblical texts concerning the cult at Dan in the context of Northern religion, arguing that it is described as an essentially Yahwistic cult that incorporated earlier tribal elements. The book also presents a portrait of Danite cult feasts as Yahwistic and traditional events, exploring the significance of some of the details of the feasts in light of the biblical texts.Keywords: Danite cult feasts; Yahwistic cult
