Abstract

The effects of instabilities of sampling on spectra estimation are studied in the case of linear FM signals by means of the pseudo-discrete Wigner-Ville distribution (PDWVD). We show that the PDWVD allows one to extract the instantaneous frequency of the randomly sampled signal. The effects of random and non-uniform sampling are studied. Two sampling methods are analysed: an independent uniform jitter and a determinist accumulated sampling.
