Abstract

This paper presents a model to perform the operation assessment of Service Water Systems (SWSs) under periodic inspection and maintenance. A modular approach is used to integrate the component and subsystem models into a system structure and Monte Carlo (MC) simulation is proposed to estimate the system unavailability of SWSs. In the illustration case study, we calculate the occurrence of loss of service water and assess the impact on its supporting systems in Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs).
