Reflector feed optimization for two widely separated bands

Abstract

Circular waveguide can provide low cross polarization and good circular polarization as a reflector feed. By adding a corrugated flange to the antenna one can improve the radiation characteristics, but this improvement only happens at the centre frequency and deteriorates these characteristics at other frequencies. In this work it was shown that by adding a step to the structure the radiation characteristics will become closer for two widely separated frequencies.
