Abstract

A new transformer protection theory based on spectral entropy characteristics is put forward in this paper. First, the algorithm of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and entropy are developed, and variation trends of spectral entropy characteristics are analyzed in the case of inrush currents and internal fault currents.
