Abstract
A compact rectifier integrated with a low-profile antenna for harvest radio frequency (RF) energy at 2.4 GHz is presented and experimented with in this paper. The proposed RF energy harvesting rectifier achieves RF-to-dc (RF to direct current) power conversion efficiency (PCE) up to 71%. Additionally, the rectifier attained 5.022 V DC output voltage along with a 45 kΩ load terminal with 20 dBm. Besides, the selected antenna prototype works as a receiver in order to collect the RF signal prior to converting it to DC voltage using the proposed circuit. The features of this system qualify it to be a good candidate for low-powered wireless communication systems as compares to the other state-of-the-art rectifier.
