Abstract

The technology of measurement and control of geometric parameters of large-sized parts in heavy and transport engineering, in power engineering, etc. is considered in this paper. It is based on the results of measuring the radial and axial run-out of the surfaces of the part and the subsequent processing of this primary measurement information, without requiring the accuracy of the output base. This can be comprehended by bringing the results of radial and axial run-out measurement to the virtual output datum - to the virtual datum axis, which is a straight line passing through the centroids of points of instantaneous rotation axes in sections of two rings mounted on the end face surfaces of the part approximately coaxial to its geometric axis.
