The main objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of slot-width in slot-type linear motor. The force needs to be maintained for used in food processing application. Besides that, the slot-width is adjusted to obtain long displacement for the mover to move. Ansys Maxwell software is used to simulate the performance for this innovation. The variable parameters are the height of slot pole shoe, gap between coils, number of turns and height of coil. This investigation can give an idea to design the new device that requires compression method. The new device will help to overcome and solve the weakness of the conventional compression method. Abstract

This paper discuss about the effect of slot-width in slot-type linear motor. Linear motor is a device that produces linear motion without using any mechanical transmission to convert from rotary motion to linear motion. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of slot-width in slot-type linear motor. The force needs to be maintained for used in food processing application. Besides that, the slot-width is adjusted to obtain long displacement for the mover to move. Ansys Maxwell software is used to simulate the performance for this innovation.
