Quality control assessment of two lentogenic newcastle disease vaccines imported into Nigeria and the locally produced lasota

Abstract

Control of Newcastle Disease is principally by vaccination. Both imported and locally produced vaccines are in use in Nigeria. Comparison was made between two lentogenic vaccines imported from France, India and the Vom-produced Lasota in terms of physical outlook, sterility viral viability, immunogenicity and safety. Whereas some similarity was observed between the three vaccines, lasota was superior to the other two in terms of viral viability. (Tropical Veterinarian: 2002 20(1): 8-10)
