Recent trends and challenges in wireless networks

Abstract

This paper presents the keynote speech on the 7th International Symposium on Computer Networks held in Istanbul, Turkey. It addresses the current trends in research and development in wireless networks and communications. It also sheds some light on the future and challenges facing the progress in this fascinating technology. The speech also reviews fundamental techniques in the design, operation, and evaluation of wireless networks and systems. Some recent research results are presented including new protocols for wireless networks
