If the satellite could not respond to the network management demand, the intra-domain cooperation or inter-domain cooperation would be activated. The suspectable fault of satellite could be tested through cooperation among the fault detection agents in satellites. Abstract

Satellite network is characterized by its time-varying topology. For the communication resources are scare and expensive, it is very important to detect the network fault in time. However the common fault detection methods used in terrestrial network are not suitable to satellite network. So in satellite network a efficient and lightweight fault detection method is put forward. When a satellite agent could respond to the network management instruction received from the management station. The traditional detection method was used through network management technique.
