Abstract

In this paper, a full Ka-band transition from half height rectangular waveguide to microstrip transmission line is designed and optimized. A stepped impedance microstrip probe is adopted to realize good impedance matching. By using ANSYS HFSS simulation and optimization, the designed transition has insert loss <; 0.25dB and return loss > 15dB during full Ka band.
