Abstract

A 2-dimensional (2-D) ring-bar microstrip meander-line for broad band miniaturization planar traveling-wave tubes (TWTs) has been proposed in this paper. Simulated by 3-D high frequency software, the cold band width of this 2-D ring-bar microstrip meander-line slow wave structure (SWS) is almost double that of the traditional U-shaped microstrip meander-line SWS at the same dimensions, which means that this modified structures is a promising SWS for wide band planar TWTs.
