Abstract

When we first thought of this series we agreed that there was one man who could do justice to the main theme of the series - the actual dilemma many new graduates face immediately on going into general practice. So we approached Colin Dexter and asked him if he would write our introductory article. But, like many creative people, Colin's hectic timetable meant we had to wait for his thesis. And thesis it turned out to be.
