Rare Penetrating Injury Caused By Tooth Brush In A 5 Year Old Child

Abstract

Background : Toothbrushing has become an integral part of our everyday routine as a means of keeping the oral cavity clean. Although the use of toothbrush has been considered to be safe, traumatic injuries while brushing are bound to happen in young children. Many times, these injuries in children can cause damage to the surrounding vital tissues and vessels and can lead to severe complications. Here, we report a case of a 5-year-old female child who had a penetrating trauma to buccal mucosa while brushing.
