Unequal error protection codes based on |u|u+/spl upsi/|/spl middot/| construction

Abstract

A well-known |u|u+/spl upsi/| construction is given to a (n,k/sub 1/) linear code with a (n,k/sub 2/) linear code to form a (2n,k/sub 1/+k/sub 2/) linear code. The purpose of this research is to investigate how the |u|u+/spl upsi/|/spl middot/| construction can be used to construct new different codes. In this paper we limit the discussion on linear unequal error protection (LUEP) codes.
