ON THE INDONESIAN LABOUR MIGRATION TO MALAYSIA

Abstract

The article discusses the main directions and development trends of labour migration from Indonesia to Malaysia, its key factors, socio-economic and international legal consequences. Special attention is paid to the acute issue of illegal migration that is considered to be a source of tension not only in the relations between Indonesia and Malaysia, but also in the region in general. The author attempts to identify the possible ways of solving the problems under consideration and expanding bilateral cooperation on migration between the neighboring countries.
