Abstract
This paper is concerned with investigations of three types of broadband antenna elements that are to be used for spatial power combining and phased-array radar application. The first antenna is the Linearly Tapered Slot Antenna (LTSA) with L=λ0 while the second and the third are the Exponentially Tapered Slot Antenna (ETSA) with two different values of L (L=5 mm and L=0 mm). These antennas are to be fabricated with a low dielectric constant substrate material (RT/Duriod 5880 with dielectric constant εr =2.2), substrate thickness of 1.27 mm and design frequency of 30 GHz. Simulations have been carried out by a program called IE3D, using the Method of Moments.
