Abstract

ABSTUCT: This paper describes progress made in creating a hybrid neuron for use in neural networks. Background information on the theory and practice of synthetic neurons and neural net computers to date is given first. Then the hybrid model, which contains both analog and digital computing elements, is developed. The functional basis of this faux-neuron is an 8-bit Forth processor with suitable analog and digital support circuitry.
