Abstract
A new positioning scheme, which is called as Device-Free tracking, has been recently introduced. In the tracking scheme, a target can be tracked by using radio frequency tomography (RFT), even if it does not hold any transceiver deceives. In this paper, we propose an area estimation scheme based on the RFT, for the enhanced performance of indoor Device-Free tracking systems. The proposed scheme exploits cell surrounded by line-of-sight links, as well as cross point (CP) of triggered LOSLs between position-known wireless access points (APs) and wireless mobile devices (MDs), while the conventional scheme just maintains the links between APs and wireless MDs of the networks. The performance of the proposed scheme has been evaluated with computer simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can provide the enhanced performance in tracking accuracy without higher computational complexity, compared to the conventional scheme.
