Modularity alone with internal buffers reduces the need for stringent time synchronization. The proposed BPKS switch will provide a multicast capability, without the need for a large internal speedup, making it very suitable for VLSI implementation. Abstract
We present a new modular architecture for large multicast ATM switches. The proposed broadcast partition knockout switch (BPKS) provides a flexible network.
