Cavitation Observations and Measurement of Propeller Excited Pressure Pulses in Fullscale and in Model Tests

Abstract

Measurements of pressure fluctuations and observations of propeller cavitation were carried out aboard the single-screw container ship “Hongkong Express: In the present report, the results obtained are compared with the corresponding results from tests in the medium sized cavitation tunnel of HSVA. The comparison also includes some results of theoretical calculations.
