Abstract

In this paper, a novel multicarrier waveform called filter bank OFDM (FB-OFDM) is proposed for use in 5G. FB-OFDM adopts complex modulation and filtering on subcarrier level. It is compatible to CP-OFDM utilized by LTE and its transceiver can be implemented by simple polyphase filter. Moreover, FB-OFDM system can support asynchrony between subcarriers and choose pulse function adaptively under different scenarios.
