Abstract

The paper presents an overview of how crosscultural communication was carried out during the LendLease supplies via the Arctic convoys. Special attention is paid to multilingualism in wartime Arkhangelsk. The paper considers the importance of non-professional translation and cross-cultural mediation during the Arctic convoys.
