Abstract
In this paper antenna radiation patterns are matched to single input multiple output (SIMO) and to multiple input single output (MISO) channels. This so-called antenna synthesis maximizes the mutual information of the communication system. Derivations for the optimization of arbitrary quantiles of the channel capacity are shown for Gaussian channels. The corresponding optimal radiation patterns are also determined for the assumtion of the Kronecker channel model.
