The surface modification is permanent, inexpensive, rapid, and does not release contaminants. It also causes no optical or mechanical distortion of the plastic. Abstract
A simple nonaqueous reaction scheme for transforming the surface of plastics from hydrophobic to hydrophilic is presented.
