An Analysis on Jeju Dialect Place Names in Olle Trails - Focused on the Forms Found in Course 1~12 -

Abstract

This study aims to scrutinize Jeju dialect lexicon found in the official website and smartphone application of Olle trails as to clarify whether it has been explained properly or not. To this end, 15 courses, composed of 12 regular and 3 extra ones between Course 1 and 12, had been analyzed and 67 items were collected in total. The statistic results were revealed as follows: explanations completely for 26 items, partially for 7 items, and lacking for 34 items. This shows that Jeju dialect has not been properly utilized as a content field in Olle trails. Next, each item was profoundly examined, and items to be reconsidered were found. Finally, the last part of this paper suggested the supplements based on the previous examination.
