Abstract
The research focuses its analysis in the (de) construction of the inter-relational dynamics of the Ecuadorian State and Civil Society in the last 20 years, considering a temporary cut of two historical blocks, including significant changes in the figures of Ecuadorian political representation and the substantial transformations of the legal and institutional environment of the state. The first block (1996 to 2005) is related to a neoliberal period that consolidated a weak and reduced institutional structure focused on protecting the interests of the economic elites. The second (2006-2017), states a major change of traditional representation figures and the rise to power of the 'Citizen Revolution'.
