Abstract
A unique combination of microlens and pillar on the facet of single mode fiber is proposed and examined to achieve high coupling efficiency to small spot size of silicon photonics. Pillar and microlens are fabricated by Self-Written Waveguide (SWW) method and dipping method, respectively using UV-curable resin.
