Abstract

A smart graphing application has been developed to perform visualization and analysis of lab data on the go using just a mobile phone or tablet. Statistical models and knowledge gathered from usage data have been utilized to help identify and automatically remove outliers from the graph that may have originated from random or systematic errors. Intelligent and smart features have been incorporated in the application in such a manner that graph plotting and analysis exactly mimics that done by hand on a conventional graph-paper sheet. With this application, however, the exercise would be easier, faster and most importantly, much less error prone. This would also have the potential of reducing unnecessary wastage of graph-paper sheets, leading to a decrease in the carbon footprint.
