Abstract
To reduce the residual stress of heavy rail after straightening, the finite element analysis approach is adopted to research the internal stress with multi-roller straightening. The multi-roller straightening method is present, and the finite element model of multi-roller straightening is built. With the given values, the straightening process test is simulated, and the residual stress distribution after straightening is analysed. The application shows, using the proposed approach to adjust the reduction of the straightened roll, not only a better straightness can be acquired, but also a good distribution of residual stress after straightening can be obtained.
