Abstract

Despite the fact we associate free verse with bible verse, this last one is characterized by its independence and extension from any rhythm derived from accentual patterns. In particular, this metric form close to prose, which has been poorly cultured in Spanish poetry will find in Antonio Gamoneda ́s Descripción de la mentira one of it's most remarkable expressions. This work begins with the analysis of this way of metric to understand the essential of the collection of poems where both , the structure and symbolic language , are built from the same bible verse. In this sense, Descripción de la mentira is a new work without previous antecedents and a reference for current Spanish poetry
